A custom baby gate designed to close off the top of a winder staircase, while allowing the southern light to filter through.

Made with standard dimensional lumber and off-the-shelf hardware! The latch is concealed behind the gate, out of reach (for now...)! To allow the gate to open smoothly and support it along its length, the base features a couple 360deg rotating casters. The whole assembly attaches directly to the existing metal railing using "U" shaped fasteners and small wood blocks to distribute the clamping pressure.
