The Twist Lamp began with the notion of creating a product using primarily one material, without requiring fasteners.
The lamp was modeled in Rhino3d, then the parts were laid out using Grasshopper and then cut on a CNC machine, using 1/4" baltic birch plywood.
Finished with 2 coats of clear satin varnish. Not much glue needed; only on the lamp shade, with the base being friction fit joints. The socket and electrical cord are simple off-the-shelf components.
